In der Leprakolonie Deena Karuna in Telangana beginnen die Bauarbeiten für einen öffentlichen Waschplatz.
Das Wasser wird von einem Handpumpbrunnen hierher geleitet, um einen Wassertank zu füllen, von dem aus die zum Teil behinderten Bewohner das Wasser aus Wasserhähnen entnehmen können. Dadurch können sie vor Ort ihre Wäsche waschen und müssen das Wasser nicht zu ihren Häusern tragen.
Die Zementsäcke für den Bau des Wassertankes und Waschplatzes werden abgeladen.
Von diesem Handbrunnen wird das Wasser zu dem Waschplatz geleitet, den wir in Auftrag gegeben haben.
Dieser ältere ausgemergelte Mann ist alleinstehend. Er hat niemanden, der ihn mit Essen versorgen kann und die nächste Stadt ist von dieser Kolonie zu weit entfernt, um einer Betteltätigkeit nachzugehen. Wir sprechen mit ihm und schenken ihm 1000 Rupees, etwa 12 €, für ein wenig Nahrung, über die er sich sehr freut.
Der Brunnen in der Jammigunta Kolonie ist nicht mehr funktionsfähig, da Sand die Wasserzufuhr versperrt. Die Pumpe wird in der Kirche aufbewahrt und wir beauftragen jemanden mit der Reinigung, um sie vor Rost und Dreck zu schützen, bis wir den Pumpen reparieren können.
Für die Kinder des Lepradorfes Chota Phool in Bihar erhalten einen Rucksack, um die Schulsachen ordentlich zur Schule tragen zu können.
Die Kinder haben sich in Chota Phool versammelt, um uns ihre Schulleistungen zu zeigen.
Da einige Kinder nicht regelmäßig die Schule besuchen, weil ihre Eltern sie mit zum Betteln nehmen, haben wir gedroht diese aus dem Programm zu nehmen.
Die übrigen, fleißigen sind umso bemühter, uns ihren Leistungswillen und ihre Kenntnisse zu zeigen. Sie schreiben in Ihre Hefte Aufgaben in Hindi, Englisch und Rechenübungen und zeigen sie uns stolz.
In dieser Kiste werden die von uns gekauften Schulmaterialien aufbewahrt und bei Bedarf an die Kinder verteilt.
Regelmäßig halten wir in Delhi unsere „Suppenküche“ ab. Die schon bekannten Kinder und ihre Eltern werden von uns unter der Autobahnbrücke, wo sie leben, aufgesucht und begleiten uns zu einem Essensstand.
Hier erhalten Sie ein Mahl aus mit Gemüse gefüllten Pfannkuchen, Joghurt, Saft und Keksen. Sie kommen aus ländlichen Gegenden ohne Arbeit und leben in der Großstadt vom Verkauf von Luftballons, Rosen und ähnlichem….
