Pick up of caps in January

Warm wool caps for distribution in winter time

In January of this year Jürgen, Maria and Alexandra went to see our knitting ladies in Eberswalde. For years, they (around 60 ladies) have tirelessly been knitting at home and on Wednesdays in the rooms of the German Red Cross.
The result is amazing! 7713 caps were produced and we can hardly believe it...
We are very glad that this time our friend Benno Messingschlager from the bike café in Baunach lent us his company transport bus. Our previous transport means would have been too small for the huge quantity.

The knitting ladies were very impressed by Jürgen’s report and the tour photos. Their diligence is so great that even during the lecture some of the ladies would not put aside their needles.
We can only say THANK YOU, THANK YOU on behalf of those who will benefit from the many warm caps. Your commitment is really great and it is difficult for us to find the right words when we learned that some of the knitting ladies manufacture up to two caps a day…
However, we would like to point out on this occasion that it is not in first line the quantity that matters but the intention of our loyal knitting ladies. Your enthusiasm for serving others and showing your sympathy without ever meeting those who benefit from your work deserves the utmost respect.

We are also happy to report that Benno Messingschlager (Bike-Cafe in Baunach), our long-standing sponsor, helps by providing cartons, pallets, storage space and transport of the caps! This important support came at the right time and is a great relief for us ;-) THANK YOU, Benno!!!
